Medical School Requirements and AP Tips

Medical School Requirements

It is wise to consider medical school requirements for schools in which you plan to apply.  Some students start planning as early as their freshman year in high school, and start taking AP (Advanced Placement) high school courses which they can apply towards their undergraduate degree. AP courses are recognized and accepted by more than 90 per-cent of colleges and universities in the United States. If you are considering attending college abroad, over 60 countries outside the U.S. also accept AP courses.  In either case, make sure to contact the college admissions office of the school you wish to attend.

In the case of Harvard Medical School requirements, as noted in my article, Medical School Requirements, classes such as chemistry, physics, and biology require labs, so be sure to clarify that a lab course can be taken in order to fulfill the complete requirements. For example, a student may be eligible to take AP Biology after completing one course in high school biology and one in high school chemistry.  (more…)
